At last weekend’s Sloan Sports Analytics Conference there was a fantastic talk by Edward Tufte on data visualisation. During Tufte’s talk he used several visual aids, of which this Inge Druckrey video* on Design Thinking was one.

If you’re in a rush, the relevant section runs from 30:21 to 33:13.

If not, grab a cuppa and watch the whole thing (37 mins). It will be time well spent.

Glad to report that Professor Tufte’s 58 minute talk from the 2014 Sloan conference is now available online, free & gratis. It does not include the various visuals used by Tufte, nor the lovely A3 handout. But that should not stop you from watching.
