Anthony Foley and Jamie Heaslip at the Guinness Pro 12 Launch

Popped over to Lond0n for the Guinness Pro 12 launch last week. On one hand, an odd choice given that England do not supply teams to the Pro 12. On the other hand, it was held at the UK headquarters of Diageo and the Pro 12 got far more media attendance from the London media than if the launch had been in, say, Dublin. A couple of interviews for The Score:

Anthony Foley

“Everybody says we’re in transition but we’ve a lot of players who are here to win trophies. That’s their role. Rather than sitting back and saying we’ll do it in three years time, well we’ll do it this year.”

Jamie Heaslip

“Rugby – it really consumes everything in terms of what you eat, how you eat, how you sleep, what you drink, how you train. It kind of infiltrates to such a level that on my holidays, if I’m not in the gym and if I’m not doing something fitness-wise in two or three days I start getting really itchy feet. I need to go! So it’s come full circle for me now, which is really nerdy.”
